Escapism is one of the characteristic elements of romanticism. It is the name given to the attitude of which escapes from reality.   Romanticism (not romanticism) is a cultural and artistic movement that developed at the end of the 18th century in which prevails the principles of freedom and subjectivity and the opposition to the classic rules and philosophical rationalism, giving priority to the s entimientos. It is a way of feeling and conceive of nature, life and man himself. The word only romanticism exists in Portuguese, but not in Spanish.
